5.The Roulins owned Augustine Roulin (‘La berceuse’) (F 505 / JH 1669). It cannot be ascertained which portrait of Joseph Roulin was in their possession; see letter 774, n. 3. In 1900 Vollard bought eight Van Goghs from Roulin (Paris, Musée d’Orsay, Documentation, Archives Vollard): five portraits (see letter 796, n. 3), two landscapes (see letter 836) and a still life with oleanders (F 594 / JH 1567).
