From: Paul Gauguin
To: Vincent van Gogh
Date: Paris, on or about Thursday, 20 March 1890
Source status
Original manuscript
Location
Amsterdam, Van Gogh Museum, inv. no. b872 V/1962
Date
The letter must have been written about the same time as Theo’s letter 858 of 19 March 1890, considering that both letters talk about the works by Van Gogh shown at the recently opened exhibition of the Indépendants. In this letter Gauguin suggests the exchange that Theo had already mentioned in his letter. Because a more precise dating is impossible, we have dated the present letter to about Thursday, 20 March 1890.
