To: Willemien van Gogh
Date: Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Saturday, 4 January 1890
Source status
Original manuscript
Location
Amsterdam, Van Gogh Museum, inv. no. b717 V/1962
Date
Van Gogh wrote this letter the day after sending a consignment of paintings (ll. 25-26). Since the consignment was sent on 3 January, we have dated the letter to Saturday, 4 January 1890. Cf. also Additional details.
Additional
Because the letter was written on the same day as letter 836 to Theo, and Willemien was then staying with Theo and Jo, it is likely that the two letters were sent together.
