Devant m’absenter demains et étant occupé les Mardi, je me mets à votre disposition pour vous accompagner Mercredi à St Remy.1 Nous partirions par le train de 8 heures 51, si cela vous convient. Ayant déjà vu M. Peyron, il est convenable que je vous accompagne moi-même.2

Having to go away tomorrow and being busy on Tuesdays, I place myself at your disposal to accompany you to St-Rémy on Wednesday.1 We would leave by the 8.51 train, if that suits you. Having already seen Mr Peyron, it is appropriate that I should accompany you myself.2

1. Van Gogh and Salles left according to schedule on Wednesday, 8 May 1889 for the asylum of Saint-Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Rémy. Van Gogh’s name was recorded on that date in Le grand registre de l’asile de Saint-Rémy. See Documentation, 8 May 1889.
2. On Monday, 29 April Salles had had a talk with Dr Peyron about Vincent’s admission to the asylum. See letter 763, Date.
